Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla could be heading towards Arsenal exit door in the summer, after French defender Bacary Sagna became the fifth player to join Manchester City from the club in recent years.

Yesterday, Spanish newspaper AS claimed that the newly crowned La Liga champions Atletico Madrid are plotting a move to sign Arsenal’s world class midfielder Cazorla, as the Rojiblancos see him as the perfect replacement for Brazilian Diego, who has joined Turkish side Fenerbahce on a free transfer.

Cazorla has a contract till 2016 and would cost in the region €20m. The 29-year-old signed a new deal only in March but Spanish press believes he is looking to return to his home country with Atletico.

The Times now reports that Atletico Madrid have renewed their interest in Cazorla and could tempt Arsenal with a £15m offer, a similar kind of sum the Gunners paid for him two years ago.

As I have said yesterday, Cazorla is crucial to the Arsenal’s attacking make up and the Gunners probably won’t entertain any bids for him, unless they are presented with an offer they can’t refuse.

Meanwhile, Bacary Sagna becomes the fifth Arsenal player to join Manchester City in recent years. The Frenchman signed a three-year contract worth £150,000 a week at City after his contract expired with the Gunners.

Manchester City are expect to announce Fernando as their next signing of the summer soon, after completing a £16m deal for the Porto midfielder.
