Danny Welbeck scored the winner for Arsenal in the Gunners’ 2-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford in the FA Cup.

The England international, who joined the United academy as an eight-year-old was sold by Louis van Gaal in September to make way for Radamel Falcao.

The Colombian international has struggled to settle in at his new club, Van Gaal says he has no regrets over the transfer:

“He (Falcao) has scored four goals, had three or four assists and he stimulates the other players, so that is an aspect of the profession. But it is now easy for you to say that and you are happy to say that.”

The defeat means United will be trophy-less for the second season running. Van Gaal is getting loads of criticism with many fans voicing out the frustrations whether united have at all progressed under the Dutchman.

“Van Gaal is going to get criticised, you’d expect that,” Keane said during his BBC Match of the Day analysis.

“Give the man a chance – two or three years.”

United currently occupy the fourth position but their 10-game run-in includes matches against Liverpool (away), Manchester City (home), Chelsea (away) and Arsenal (home).

Have United made a mistake by selling Welbeck? Most importantly, can Manchester United finish in top four?
