RVN truely is a great footballer. But Van Basten is different class.

Both could score goals, one was great individual finisher the other a great team finisher. So what does that mean? Well compare the major trophies that both have won. You’ll note that van basten won Italian leagues, European Trophies and international trophies. What did RVN win, well a fair amount but not enough to become a truely great player.

A’ight, don’t get one thing:

Roy Makaay is Dutch, right? Why isn’t he in the Dutch squad? He’s a good goal-scorer

…not sure of his age though. Like Van Persie who seems to get better and better but Kuyt’s not had an effect on me.

Doubt Van Basten would apologise or do anything to get Ruud back in the squad.

Yeah…unless he has a barny with capello and who would bet against it. There was talk of him having a bust up with Raul Bravo too. The way i see it, he would have been good this season for united but he is on his way down and we have made the most of him as a goalscoring machine. Good business from the gaffer, good goals:appearance ratio from ruud in the red of united and now it’s time for united to find a replacement unless saha bags 20 in the premiership alone.
As for Ruud, he seems like hes losing his temperament and bad attitude wont help him.

Agree with everything you say apart from the remark about Huntelaar. Have you seen his goalscoring record? Well, here it is:

2006 – 2007 9 4 Ajax

2005 – 2006 16 16 Ajax

2005 – 2006 15 17 Heerenveen

2004 – 2005 31 17 Heerenveen

2003 – 2004 35 26 AGOVV

Such a strike rate is similar to Ronaldo’s (and Ruud’s) in their prime… obviously he has yet to do it in a ‘big league’, but I would still say that he is a proven goalscorer.
