Manchester United’s want away forward Wayne Rooney has already had two bids rejected for his services by Chelsea this summer.

However, reports are now suggesting the England international will only be sold to a side outside of the Premier League.

The 27-year old has been linked with a move away from the Premier League champions since former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson announced Rooney had requested a transfer at the tail-end of last season.

Europa League winners Chelsea are among the favourites to procure his signature, but United have maintained he isn’t for sale.

Sources close to the player and the club have revealed Wayne Rooney will not be sold to any side in the Premier League as Manchester United have no plans to sell one of their best players to their title rivals at any cost.

New Manchester United manager David Moyes said in a recent interview that he wants to keep the Englishman, but also revealed he would use Rooney sparingly. The news didn’t go well as upon finding out the news, the 27-year old released a statement saying he’s hurt and confused by the comments made about him.

He is expected to undergo talks with the club about his immediate future. Many feel he will hand in an official transfer request to leave the side.

La Liga runners-up Real Madrid have previously enquired about Rooney, but have changed their target to Tottenham Hotspur forward Gareth Bale. Ligue One champions Paris Saint-Germain, and treble winners Bayern Munich have also emerged as potential options for the former Everton man, but have yet to make an official bid for his services.

Arsenal admitted interest, but also conceded they aren’t a side matching Rooney’s ambitions.

Chelsea aren’t giving up on signing the Manchester United man, but they have been told in no circumstances will Rooney be sold to another Premier League side. It’s abroad or no deal for the Red Devils, which could see Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain prepare a potential bid.
