I think that footballers are payed way too much for what they do. There are plenty of people who benefit society a lot more than a few footballers kicking a ball about. People like nurse, firemen, the police and many more do a job that takes a lot more than being a footballer. Furthermore, how many times have fans been disappointed with how their games have turned out? Havant & Waterlooville v. Liverpool. These men have part time jobs on the side, and put up an amazing fight against Liverpool.

Someone please comment to agree with my plea.

I still feels that we (everybody) places too much emphasis on Rooney. SAF keep on saying “He’s still only a boy…” but in the same breath, he builds the entire United team around Rooney. Sad. United will turn out just like Liverpool when McMannaman used to run the show for them. ‘McMannaman don’t perform, Liverpool don’t perform’.

My personal opinion, if you want to focus around an individual, then SAF should try to get a real Midfield General (someone that can handle the pressure – like Requelme). Let the game flow through him, placing focus on him and then let Rooney do his damage.

I think SAF want to do the same with Rooney like he did when Cantona was at United. Don’t get me wrong… Rooney is a brilliant player, but he is no Cantona. Cantona posessed that “something” that allowed him to do something quite unexpected. He had a confidence about him that was kinda surreal because sometimes it worked, sometimes not, but, he never stopped trying the unexpected. I don’t see Rooney having this same confidence.

I still believe Rooney is one of the most awesome players around.

You get that at Wigan, West Ham and Portsmouth. You get that at Blackburn and Sheff Utd. But Man U? Hardly.

Dude, decide whether man U is a top dog or underdog. If you’re top dog, stop pretending to be ‘the little guy’. You embarass yourselves. If you’re under dogs, stop pretending you can compete with European powerhouses like Barca and Milan in every 3rd or 4th rant.

Actually I have had a question for Man U ‘insiders’. Gary Neville allegedly hates ‘scousers’, hence ‘kissing’ the badge in ‘the game’ last year (when does he kiss the badge? My glasses are foggy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBZ1iRVvBXU ).
Wayne Rooney is a scouser playing for Man U (who earns money from the S*n, which makes him absolute scum, despite his legendary and unquestionable skill as a footballer).

Why not Mascherano for 20 mil and Carrick for 14+ ?

When all of us want more money for our talent, experience blah blah its considered part of normal human psyche. But when a footballer wants the same thing somehow he is branded greedy! Why does the fact that Rooney wants more wages needs to be even justified? He knows he has talent and he knows he is the best- heck he deserves it.
