Ronaldo, Ronaldo, Ronaldo

Once you consider that Manchester United has two of the best wingers in the world (Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo), it’s no surprise that the Old Trafford club has managed to punch above its weight in the Premiership on the back of their performances.

And while Giggsy is getting on his years (surely even he has to retire some day), Ronaldo is only 21 and has at least a decade of quality football in him.

He might not stick around Manchester United for too many years, but this is one player who definitely has the potential, the skills and most importantly, the balls to become a Manchester United legend.

Of course, he has his faults (should cross more, pass more), but he’s also playing in teams (Manchester United and Portugal) where he is the main creative influence - and therefore he takes on the responsibility (and clearly is better for it) and that’s where the selfish streak shines through.

Here’s a video from Portugal’s 3-0 win against Azerbaijan from the Euro 2008 qualifier last night - Ronaldo scored two goals and in between and this goal disallowed.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s overhead kick, goal not given

C Ronaldo Overhead Kick
C Ronaldo Overhead Kick V Azerbaidjan. Should be a wonderful goal !

Let’s hope he continues his hot streak for Manchester United as well.

  2. not “disallowed”, just not given. You know, cause linespeople are “human” and so they can make these mistakes, and you’ve just got to live with it, cause, you know, it’s part of the tradition of the, you know . . I’ve never heard such a lot of bullcrap in my life. Gimme RFID anyday.

O “Ronnie running down the right!”

I knew that you were a class act from the first day that I saw you play against Bolton!I am a Sierra Leonean working at the central bank and I have passionate arguments with my workmates and friends about how, with time to come, the world will have to acknowledge that you are the best attacking midfielders in the world! With time and hopefully when SAF will buy the type of ball winners that will allow you,Giggs/Park,and Scholes the freedom to attack,Man United will be the team to beat!Try to cut the ball back once and a while to bring Scholes into play,we all know how good he is at ghosting into goal-scoring positions!

  4. that goal was amazing…i mean Cristiano Ronaldo is the best!!!

Ronaldo’s faults are not valid. Now that he’s 23 he has improved grealty and passes more. United are not so dependant to Ronaldo this season as United’s reserves have ‘up their game’ and rooney and tevez have really made their mark in United history as haas new recruits nani and anderson. Ronaldo’s Sooooooooooooo Buff!! Thasss Allll Tht Mattaz =D X
