Robinho wants Kaka to come to Manchester City

Kaka to Manchester City? Crazy or realistic?

According to the Guardian, Robinho harbors dreams of adding to Manchester City’s Brazilian contingent, as he wants Kaka to join him in Manchester.

This summer, it seemed like AC Milan were at least a little open to the idea of selling Kaka, with Chelsea linked with a world-record move for the reigning FIFA World Player of the Year. If he does move to England, I think it’d be there, but now that City have bottomless pockets, could Robinho‘s dream have a serious chance at becoming reality?

It’d certainly be interesting to see the bidding war if AC Milan did decide that being able to buy an entire squad’s worth of talented players is worth selling him. Chelsea have won many a bidding war since Roman Abramovich’s takeover, but this could be one that they lose.

Of course, you have to consider if Kaka would actually want to move to Manchester City right now. City’s still very much in the beginning of their building project, so it‘d be a lateral move, at best. On the other hand, Kaka’s basically won all he can at AC Milan, and there is the small possibility that helping lead City to great heights could appeal to him.

Do Manchester City have a realistic shot at Kaka? Would he even consider such a move?

Wouldn’t we all love to see Kaka’ play in the PL? I think Manchester certainly have the finances behind them but maybe not the correct philosophy. Manchester I believe needs to shore up their defensive side first. They give away as many goals as they make (in general). If they could make a play for another one or two solid backs to mind the net, I think their dollars (pounds) would go much further. Look at AC Milan, look at Real Madrdid. A ton of star power upfront doesn’t mean everything.

Did this article seriously just say that moving from AC Milan to Manchester City would be a lateral move? I know Milan didn’t get into the CL this year, but that isn’t even apples to oranges. It’s more like apples to burning tires… Not even close to the same thing…

Oh, and Kaka has said a million times he does not want to leave Milan before his contract is up, which currently goes through 2011. Nor has Milan ever said they want to sell him. Just because Milan and Chelsea talked this summer doesn’t mean the Rossoneri want to unload their golden boy.

  3. Never in a million years! Kaka is not the money grabbing mercenary that Robinho is. The man has principles (has no intention of breaking his contract at Milan until 2011) and morals (he stayed a virgin until marriage, and even proclaimed this in public), and if he ever were to move to the Premier League, it would be purely for footballing reasons and which would also see him only move to an established team such as Man Utd, Liverpool or Chelsea.
