Redknapp wants to continue, age no matter
Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp wants to continue in office even after the three years he has on his contract. The 61 year old is set to give a tough competition to the ‘ages battle’ for Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson, by remaining in management beyond the age of 65.
Harry Redknapp loves his job and wants to continue beyond his retirement age. He recently celebrated his 61st birth day leading Portsmouth to FA Cup final victory. Redknapp did wonders for Pompey by taking them to their first Uefa Cup.
Portsmouth are due to move into their new stadium at Horsea Island in 2011, Redknapp would be 65 by then. He said that he wants to continue and still be the manager of the club in the new stadium
He said:
“I can’t see me going anywhere for a long time. Hopefully, I’ll be here still when the new stadium is built.
If I wasn’t involved in football, I’d be sitting around at home. You never know what can happen in this game, but I’m happy here.
I’d love to still be there when we play our first game at the new ground.
The only way I won’t be is if I’m not alive in 2011! I’m still enjoying football as much as I’ve ever done and can’t see me going anywhere, to be honest.”
