Real Take Lead in Signing United's Targets Toni Kroos and Mattia De Sciglio
The Bayern Munich midfielder has long been linked with Old Trafford and has recently put the recent speculations linking him with a move to United to bed. The German international has one year left on his contract and has refused to sign a new deal with the Bundesliga champions.
Real manager Carlo Ancelotti wants to bring in Kroos to the Spanish capital club and are in advance stages of the negotiations in sealing a deal for the Bayern midfielder. 10-time European champions have already contacted the midfielder’s agent Volker Struth and are persuading him to join them this summer.
The Independent reports Kroos has been a summer target for United. However, Real are ready to offer £4m a year before tax and are waiting for the player’s representative to get back to him over a potential switch to Santiago Bernabéu.
Meanwhile, AC Milan defender De Sciglio has also been a transfer target for the Red Devils as they were keen on signing the versatile defender. The 21-year-old has a brilliant control over the ball and can play either as a right-back or left-back, with the right side being his most preferred position.
De Sciglio came up through the ranks of Milan’s youth system and has attracted interest from top clubs across Europe. The Serie A outfit’s financial difficulties might force them to sell the defender to Real this summer.
The former Chelsea manager wants to land De Sciglio in order to strengthen his side’s back four for the next season as Real look to defend their Champions League title, while also focusing on winning the La Liga.
United have endured a poor transfer window last summer and are yet to make any additions to their squad this summer. Should Kroos and De Sciglio join Real this summer, it will be a crushing blow for the Red Devils in the transfer market.
