Former Manchester United boss David Moyes has been announced as the new boss of La Liga outfit Real Sociedad.

Moyes’ reputation as a manager suffered immensely during a difficult 10-month tenure at Old Trafford, where he was sacked in April.

5 World-Class Players United Have Failed To Sign

Having formerly built a name for himself at Everton, Moyes gets an unexpected chance at redemption in Spain.

The Scottish coach has signed a one-and-a-half year deal with Sociedad, who finished seventh in the Spanish top flight last season.

Moyes lasted just 51 games at Manchester United, winning just 27 times as the defending champions failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

His time in Manchester was characterized by vitriolic campaigns against him personally by sections of the United fan-base and intense scrutiny and criticism of his leadership.

In March, a plane was infamously flown over Old Trafford with the message “Wrong One – Moyes Out” during a league match with Aston Villa.å
