Chelsea have had two bids rejected for the Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata this summer.

However a transfer could be close because Real Madrid are holding out for an offer only 5 million pounds more than Chelsea’s last offer. Usually in such cases, both clubs reach an agreement/compromise.

It seems Antonio Conte is prepared to break the bank for the former Juventus man and has already submitted two massive offers for the Euro 2016 star. Chelsea’s last offer for the Spaniard was in the region of 62 million pounds and they have been informed that Real Madrid will sell for 67 million pounds.

Now that the fee has been decided, it will be interesting to see if Chelsea continue their pursuit with an improved offer. Mirror add that if Chelsea go on to offer 67 million pounds, Real Madrid will not refuse it.

The Blues have already signed Michy Batshuayi for 33 million pounds this summer. With the uncertainty surrounding Costa’s future, Chelsea are likely to sign another forward.

Morata would be a perfect fit for Chelsea and the Premier League stylistically.

Furthermore, Conte admires the player’s abilities and is likely to give him more chances than what he got at Juventus. Real Madrid already have Benzema and will struggle to give game time to the Spaniard next season. Morata recently said that he wants to play for a club where he can feel important and working a under a manager who admires him will certainly help in that regard.

A sale seems very much on the cards and as things stand, Chelsea are probably favourites to land the player.

Morata has been linked with moves to Arsenal and Manchester United as well.
