Liverpool 2014 Transfers Update: Ins, Outs and Future Signings

Liverpool are back in the Champions League and Brendan Rodgers is making sure that he and his club are active in the transfer market.

The Reds have already completed four signings in this summer transfer window, having added Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana from Southampton, versatile player Emre Can and winger Lazar Markovic.

Meanwhile, the Merseyside club have lost their star player Luis Suarez as the Premier League’s top scorer completed a switch to Barcelona earlier this month. In addition to this, last summer’s two signings Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto have left Anfield on loan to Sevilla and Malaga respectively.

Suarez’s sale to the La Liga giants has seen them raise around £75m and Rodgers has vowed to spend those funds in order to bring in new faces to the club this summer. Liverpool are going to add few more players to the squad, while few of the existing players could he heading for Anfield exit.

Lambert will play a key role in the attacking front, while Lambert will be used as a second fiddle striker next season. Meanwhile, Markovic will also play a crucial role on the wider positions.

Can on the other hand will be handed the role to guard his central defenders and give the full-backs the much needed protection when they are going up front to support the wider players.

We need to see how many players will be coming to Anfield in the ongoing transfer window as it looks like there is still a lot more business to be done.

  1. Liverpool are in need of a leader at the center of their defense. Lovren seems to be the main target. I would question his history of injury and would not be paying over 20m for him, but he may be a big part of the solution at the back. Illori is a player I would like to see given a chance this season, and at worst he should be loaned out in the premiership. Left back is in desperate need improvement. Moreno has been the main target, and while I have not seen him, I have heard promising things about his ability. I am not interested in Ben Davies as I believe he lacks the quality of a top 4 side. Liverpool also need a right back. Both Micah Richards and Serge Aurier seem to be available and what I have seen from them, they would be quality signings and would not cost a fortune. Flannagan is a good squad player, but I don’t believe he is the solution. If Liverpool were to sell Lucas they would require a replacement, and I would be giving a lot of thought to a marquee sighing in midfield such as Paul Pogba or William Carvalho. With Champions League football they may be able to attract such a player. If not in midfield they could also do with a marquee signing up front. While I believe Remy is a quality signing(if the deal goes through), he is very similar to Sturridge. Someone with a greater deal of creativity such as Marco Reus (or dare I say James Rodríguez) would be ideal. But it is up to Brendan Rodgers to fill these gaps as he feels necessary

  2. if rogar can work 4rom d defence,i mean startin 4rom d keeper everytin wud change,i wud lyk rogar to use dis 4 defenda, krul,he is very tell n can save lvp 4rom set piece, sakho, lovren, enquire, richard

  3. I think liver really needs to for player like bony especially considering his performance in the last season and at the world cup.with the of suarez and liver at the chapion leaque bony can be a perfect player to lead at infront.remember he is not a stylish player like suarez and has a no nonsence way of always shooting at goal.despite his height he is also very good at scoring with the head unlike suarez.I think he is a quality for champion league football

  4. Lovren will be a good signing that hope will boost liverpool defence. They should buy a good keeper to make mignolet to brace up his performance as of last season. Remy will have the cutting edge upfront good buy. Liverpool should be improving in their defence.bertrand will be a decent signing at the left back to me right back it’s ok another centre back will be good Mayb Matt hummels, miranda perhaps or even varane. I wish liverpool will be a challenger for bpl title all the best.
