Rafael Benitez Signs New Liverpool Deal At Long, Long Last

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez seems to have eventually signed a long awaited new contract, if The Times is to be trusted.

It has been reported by the London paper that the Spaniard has ultimately reached an agreement with his American co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett over a new contract. The deal is said to run for four-and-a-half years but it has yet to ascertained whether he gets a raise on his 4 million euros a year contract or not.

Liverpool fans can now heave a huge sigh of relief as their much cherished and beloved manager’s future is now ascertained. Liverpool are going very strong this season. The Reds are top of the Premier League and have qualified for the last 16 stage of the UEFA Champions League as Group D winners.

Seems like happy times at Anfield have only just started to arrive. Merry Christmas Rafa and Liverpool.

Hooray! i had a feeling real or juventus would snap him up, but he finally signed a new contract! Anyway why would he want to quit?? Top of the league and winners of group D.
Liverpool have alot of poetential and could win the league and after last nights peformance, could really go far.
At least us liverpool fans can be at ease now this contract negotiation has finally ended with a good result.
But last night when he was being interviewed, they said something about the premier league and Rafa said, and i qoute ‘the champions league is more important’I wish he’d just get that out of his mind!! ye it would be nice to win the champions league, but can’t he see that reds fans would rather win the league than the champions league?? It’s been 18 years since we last won the league and all liverpool fans want is for LFC to win the league. We won the champions league 3 years ago. I think we should only concentrate on that if we have won the league. If Rafa has too much determination on europe, it could easily jepordise our chance of winning the league.
