Radamel Falcao doesn't rule out Juventus move in future
Radamel Falcao, the shiny toy in the market which Manchester United could have done without, is a typical example of a ‘panic buy’. Manchester United fans may find thousand strong reasons to prove the notion wrong but the very fact, the deal was clinched on the transfer deadline day, with the player nowhere seen in the vicinity of Louis van Gaal’s summer redevelopment project, vindicate the above assertion.
If the reports are to be believed, Juventus and Real Madrid were some of the European heavyweights tried to get his signature on the dotted lines. Italian media were absolutely convinced that Falcao would ply trade in Serie A, albeit on loan.
According to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport, Falcao has personally text-ed Juventus’ chief executive officer Beppe Marotta, out of gratitude. Falcao was heavily linked with the Turin giants and was in contact for weeks before the deal collapsed.
He wrote: “Thanks for everything. Would have been an honor for me to play for Juve, maybe will happen in the future.”
GDS claim that Juventus offered a fee in the region of €20m for Falcao and the deal was being considered for a while. Then Manchester City came forward with a €60m proposal but the scenario dramatically changed when the Red half of Manchester joined the race (following the injury to Robin van Persie & subsequent departures of Welbeck and Hernandez) and started negotiating with Jorge Mendes, agent of Falcao.
