€65m, €75m & €80m offer tabled for Manchester United target

Angel di Maria

Angel di Maria saga is taking all sorts of nasty twists and turns. And we must say, newspapers in Spain are probably getting it all wrong. The situation as we understand is simple. Well, not that simple.

  • Paris Saint Germain are leading the race to sign Di Maria.
  • According to both Marca & AS (past one week) the Parisiens are ready to offer €65m, €75m & €80m for his services.
  • In reality, they will struggle to pay that sum, simply because it would violate FFP regulations.
  • Only alternative is, they need to sell Edinson Cavani, who is a reported target of Manchester United.
  • Le 10 Sport claim PSG would only sell Cavani for €80m, which I don’t think United will ever pay.
  • Manchester United are also interested in Di Maria. In case PSG fail to wrap up the deal, Louis van Gaal will likely to make a move. That’s what Spanish press claim. Again, highly unlikely United will match that amount.

Now, Marca reporting today that PSG are hell-bent in signing Angel di Maria and could be willing to offer up to €80m to secure his signature. Di Maria’s potential sale would break Real Madrid’s highest sale record; however, coach Carlo Ancelotti wants to keep the Argentine in the squad but the club and player have different ideas.

Ancelotti says all he knows is that, like every other player, Di Maria must present himself at Madrid’s training ground on August 5, and he considers him as key to his plans for next season.

Marca further claim, United have almost completed the signing of Cavani (what? are you kidding us?) which will give PSG the flexibility to sign Di Maria. Now, really we are getting sick of this saga!

Wayne Rooney impresses for Manchester United in RvP's absence

  1. Why would anybody pay double what Di Maria is worth for an overrated inconsistent winger that goes missing in games? Madrid must be smoking the crack again

  2. Utd should never ever make the mistake of signing that flop Cavani. He was bought just last season and why do they want to sell him? We should rather pursue Di Maria. He can help revamp our wing play since he can play on both flanks.

  3. i think united should go to any lenghts to capture angel di maria and vidal. Fans will be very happy if that comes true instead of wasting money on cavani

  4. I wonder why United going in for Cavani!we shd leave that guy alone and let him stay where he’s staying or go somewhere else…cos…We need someone like Di maria in our team and not Cavani who ‘s price tag doesn’t match what he can do on the field. No place for Cavani.

  5. Manchester United should’nt waste 50 to 60M on Cavani as they already got RVP and they need to strengthen their midfield with a world class midfielder (vidal) who can loterally do everything for an outfiled player and they also need a better winger to give make their ATTACK UNSTOPABLE and also get a world class defender like Hummels to make their squad even better

  6. cavani wud be a total waste of money..man u shd mk vidal nd di maria deir major priority in dis transfer window.no united fan wud appreciate cavani’s arrival @oldtrafford,i for one.
