Premier League Transfer Round Up: Chelsea star wants to quit for Barcelona?
Manchester United have taken a top-level decision that unsettled striker Wayne Rooney will not be sold to Chelsea at any price. David Luiz apparently has told Jose Mourinho that he wants to join Barcelona, while Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard hopes to convince Luis Suarez to stay for at least one more season and much more in our Tuesday Premier League Transfer round up section.
Hard stance over Wayne Rooney
Manchester United have taken a strong decision that unsettled striker Wayne Rooney will not be sold in the summer to Chelsea at any price and are prepared to take the risk of keeping an unhappy player in the squad.
United have already two rejected two official bids from Chelsea. It is understood that at no point in the season, United have put a value on the player, or even talked about it and on that point, both bids from Chelsea are considered derisory. Even if Rooney hands in a transfer request or go public to state his desire to leave the club, United will still remain steadfast in their decisions.
Luiz wants to join Barcelona
Chelsea however had made it clear last week that the Brazilian star won’t be sold to the Catalan giants or anyone in the summer.
Steven Gerrard hopes to convince Suarez
Gerrard has hailed Suarez as one of the best players in the world and says he doesn’t want him to leave the club.
The Reds skipper said: “If I can use my influence to make him stay I will. I love playing with him and I don’t want him to go.”
Downing joins West Ham
After enduring two turbulent seasons at Anfield, Liverpool winger Stewart Downing has completed his move to West Ham for £6 million. The Anfield club have agreed to take a massive loss of £14 million on the fee they paid to Aston Villa.
