With the US election finally done and over with, the greenback finally after all these months made a signifgant rise in the 'exchange'.
Mainly Bush and his economic policies and his adamant stance on Iraq scared away plenty of investors, mainly the super rich Arabs who looked to Asia and Europe.
Now that Obama is leading the whitehouse it has already received positive feedback and even long time critics France are warming to the US again. So i doubt this financial meltdown you are talking about is going to take for a worse turn.
Obama's plans for reforms were greeted with worldwide elations and I doubt Liverpool will see a change of investors for sometime to come unless DIC offer a outrageous amount to the 2 Yankees

I reckon we will see DIC in at Liverpool by the end of January. Hicks and Gillett won't be able to refinance because of all the financial meltdown and DIC will have played a very clever, patience waiting game.
After all, of something is worth having, it's worth waiting for!

You know, billionair or not. the Epl is big money. even the corner flags in every stadium has a brand printed on it. Ball companies are fightng with one another to be the official ball sponsor for the Epl. Goes to show how globalized football has become especially the Epl financially. Filthy rich businessmen no longer see the EPL as a toy for them to fiddle around with. Its serious money and they know they can get more of it if they play their cards wisely. besides the top 4, clubs like Newcastle, Spurs,Villa will always have buyers around the corner waiting because of their huge fan base not only in England but also around the world.
If local fans who think they should own the club cant match the money power of these foreign businessmen then they should take a backseat and enjoy the football being played by their team and see superstars wearing their colors. If you want it local but at the same time want their team to challenge with the best without having the moolah then they are asking too much because football isn't like how it was 20 yrs back. We cant have it both ways. so let the people who have the money do their job while we sit back and see our team challenge for the honors. Greedy or not they too want our team to succeed for the money to pour in. so its a win win situation for all of us.
