"Sides like Hull"......like Reading and Wigan? Middlesbrough, Portsmouth and Bolton?

Nobody gave those teams much of a chance of surviving either, mostly based on the fact that they had much (if any) of a pedigree. The fact is, 50% of all teams who get into the Premier League DON'T go straight back down and it's simply the lazy of mind and the arrogant who bleat on about "doing a Derby".

Of course it's a tough step up, we all know that, and at least this article has a little thought behind it - probably because it's not written by a fan of one of the top clubs with their noses so deep in the trough that they don't even notice that football exists outside the top tier.

Come On U'Ull!

Depth is also important. Sides like Hull won't have the talent, but if they can have the depth to last through a long season, it could help them get those valuable points in the end.

Getting Harry Redknapp isn't a bad idea either, though I think all three of the promoted sides can stay up, when it's all said and done. West Brom and Hull have made a lot of quality additions, and Stoke picked up Kitson to add more firepower, so they've all improved themselves at least a little.

Yes and getting Harry Redknapp to coach you team must be very easy? :)

The biggest difference between "new boys" and relegation battlers is fitness levels. It becomes obvious in the FA cup that premier league teams seem to get the better of the smaller teams (I dont like saying small teams its like a bad word in football) in the ending minutes of games.

The other factor sadly is cheating. If the premier league refs do not collectively decide to stamp out diving and shirt pulling (which will inevitably mean getting roasted when the video shows they got it wrong)then teams will continue to lose matches unjustly. 90 minutes of 100% effort gets wasted because A Ballerina dives in the box. All managers are under pressure to get results & therefore do not discourage cheating. Any player seen cheating on tv should get an automatic 5 match ban.
