Arsenal 1-0 bayern, although lost the tie overall.
you are even dumber then i thought if you think babbel was good in the prem. Zeiger played for poor clubs. but can agree with you about the others.
Roque is the main man at blackburn, that is why he gets so much service.
History is not defined by head to heads, fergie has won more.
Bayern are one of two decent teams in germany along with werder bremen, schalke are ok. Xavi represents a top league so he can say what he said. Any of the top three teams in England would walk away with the bundesliga title and l'pool would give Bayern a run for their money. so don't try to discredit the premiership when for the last five or ten years the bundesliga has been a shadow of its former self.

ColverJohn,

Like it or not, I know very well how shite we were on Sunday but if we beat United twice then it isn't foolish to say Sven outwitted Fergie, whatever the circumstances.

In much the same way, Fergie recently claimed to have used wit to rouse Bolton for their trip to Chelsea suggesting they had been on the piss. Eriksson's record against Ferguson has something like one loss and speaks for itself.

I agree the first game at Eastlands United dominated and couldn't put the ball away and that was typical of them very early season. The way they came back even when we were on 9 points and they were on 2 while Arsenal and Chelsea made good starts was a credit.

As for the 2nd one, I hate people using the emotion of the day as an excuse. We talked and speculated enough about that in February but at the end of the day City were rarely in danger that day and swamped the midfield with quick counter attacks. Queiroz also blamed internationals, this guy really irks me at times. He wouldn't have even mentioned them at all had United won that game, but in the same way he has castigated referees in interviews where Fergie has been absent.

Considering they were 7 points behind after 3 games, and 5 behind when Arsenal beat Blackburn on the 11th following the loss on the 10th Feb, what United did in coming back speaks volumes. I have no problem with that, but if I were a United fan making excuses about the derby matches I would allude to the fact that Rooney was absent from both this season, he has developed a habit of scoring against City and maybe Ronaldo missed him in the 2nd derby because for someone who has had such an unparalleled, fantastic season, he was hardly in the game that day.

RVP Hleb is ordinary and will fail in Italy
Hitzfeld vs Ferguson 4w-4d-1 loss. The only loss being in the 1999 final when manu got lucky. Hitzfeld also as the champs league title with 2 differnt Bundesliga sides ferguson only lucky to have 1.
Oneil being irish means that England actually has no good coaches.
Bayern has only lost twice to and EPL teams in the last ten years 1 against Manu and 1 against Chelsea. I should also remind u that your arsenal was beaten everytime we played both home and away.
Bundesliga players to flourish in EPL the list is so long it prrobably easier the list those who havent flourished but I'll try to name a few hamman, zieger, babbel, ballack, klinsman, hleb jsut to name a few.
If Roque is able to score with an inferior team like Blackburn I cant understand why he would struggle with better teams like manu.
In terms bundesliga being predictable, we have had a differnt top four nearly every year in the last ten years.

Funny how we all get brainwashed by marketing terms, and argue them to death.
Take the above argument for example.
1. Predictable = bad
2. Consistent = good
It's actually the same thing. Is this apparent English predictability/consistency a bad thing? How many years now have English teams consistently dominated/appeared the Champions League quarter (and semi-finals) in recent years? Then I suppose the Champions League is also by the same measure very boring?

To me, the Bundesliga is soooooo uninspiring, I don't even know who won it, or who will win it...I'm not even inspired enough to do a google search... but, my prediction is that it will be Bayern. Why, I never hear of other teams winning it.

Bayern is the greatest (obviously not),
1) Martin o'neill is not english, he is irish.
2)Hleb is a great player, look at the matches in the champions league, especially ac milan. a quality player
3)Hitzfeld- 20 notable managerial honours, ferguson- 27. surely the best in recent history. I am an arsenal fan but must mention the 1999 UCL final.
4)Bayern couldn't even beat bolton in the uefa cup this year at home, a team that only just managed to avoid relegation from the EPL.
5) how many players have flourished in the prem that have come from the bundesliga? not that many, only berbatov really.
6)Santa Cruz moved from a big club with top class strikers to blackburn who only had McCarthy, he wouldn't hold down a place at arsenal, Man utd, liverpool or chelsea.
7) Maybe it is easier in the EPL but how come when it comes to the champions league the best players like Fabregas and Gerrard can continually play walk over teams like Ac and Inter Milan?
PS. Premiership is above Bundesliga in terms of quality, look at the performances in the champions league and uefa cup from each country respectively

Haa Im not sure Ferguson was tactically outwitted by Eriksson. The first game we played Man City off the pitch but it was early in the season and we had not developed our cutting edge. The second game it was the Munich thing and the players had no fire.

You'd make a brilliant conspiracy theorist, wouldn't you?

Ronaldo being linked to Spain and Italy, apparently doesn't ring any bells to you does it?

And if Berbatov was really interested in staying with Spurs, you'd expect more heart shown on the field to prove that point. Especially after Ramos made it clear that players will be shipped out during the end of the season. Typically you'd expect the team's players to come out trying to prove something to the manager.

Unless, of cours, you admit that your players read the newspapers as well and relapse on to their couch weeping about how many clubs they are linked to on a daily basis.

Bottomline: If a team plays well below it's potential, you would blame either the manager or the players. Man up and admit it that your players showed little desire.

In general I agree with you, EPL as usually is utterly predictable and for people to be drooling over how exciting the season was just goes further to prove my point that the EPL is a league where mediocrity is celebrated and cherished.

However, I do disagree with you in a few instances. Firstly, Villa’s final position was surprising. Notwithstanding the fact that they have the only quality English coach, they have a bunch of fairly average players and I am willing to go on record and say they will not be able to repeat this feat next season.

Secondly, the success of Roque is not at all surprising, remember he is of Bayern blood. And we have seen over the years that most player who leave the Bundesliga and go to the EPL generally go on to become huge successes for their new clubs even those like Roque who weren’t good enough to hold down their place. Just look at the hype surrounding a player as ordinary as Hleb. This reinforces Xavi point that the EPL is generally an easier league to play in.

What was not surprising was that Eriksson was able to do the double over Fergi because as we have seen time and time again, Ferguson tends to struggles against top quality coaches like the Mourinhos and Hitzfelds. Although, the Bayern coach is easily the greatest club coach in recent history so there is no great shame in struggling against him.
