Possible Tottenham Starting XI to face Chelsea

Tottenham will welcome London rivals Chelsea at the White Hart Lane in the Saturday Lunch Time Kick-Off where both the managers will face each other for the first time in the Premier League.

Villas-Boas

Andre Villas-Boas revealed that left-back Danny Rose is 90% fit for this tie and hence is most likely to start on the left back role. Kaboul is absent again with injury while Villas-Boas would highly unlikely to start with newcomer Chiriches, hence Dawson and Jan Vertonghen would start at the central defence.

In the midfield, Etienne Capoue is still sidelined with ankle injury hence the pairing of Paulinho and Dembele makes reasonable sense.

The attacking trio is one of the areas where Villas-Boas will have to make a smart decision. Nacer Chadli made a goal-scoring return against Villa and the Portuguese might be tempted to give him a starting line-up berth. Since, the Belgium international can play on either side of the wings, he can replace Townsend on the right hand side, allowing Gylfi Sigurdsson to explore on the left.

Christian Eriksen who has made a great impact within such a short time will play in the hole behind Roberto Soldado. Jermain Defoe scored a brace in the midweek, but Villas-Boas would be looking to use the Spaniard to add more tactical balance to the side. Here is the probable first eleven for Spurs
