Possible Manchester United Starting XI against Manchester City

The biggest game of the mid-week: Manchester United will face derby rivals Manchester City on Tuesday night at the Old Trafford, looking to put a dent on the title bid of their noisy neighbours.

Manchester United have endured a frustrating campaign this season, but manager David Moyes is looking to maintain a momentum, following his side’s back to back victories.

The Red Devils arranged a meeting with Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter finals, after edging out Olympiakos in the last round and the confidence is further boosted with a 2-0 victory against West Ham in the last match, where Wayne Rooney scored a spectacular goal.

Team News: Moyes bereft of enough defensive options, used Michael Carrick in central defence alongside Phil Jones against the Hammers. Nemanja Vidic is still suspended, but Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra may return to face City.

Dutchman Robin van Persie could miss the rest of the campaign through injury, but his absence saw Juan Mata revelling in the no 10 role. Shinji Kagawa also impressed in the last match and could retain the starting spot.

Prediction: 2-2; Going by the form, City should win comfortably, but this is a derby and don’t expect United to helplessly surrender.

Arsenal: Six lessons Arsene Wenger must learn!
Arsenal vs Swansea: Will the Gunners bounce back from Chelsea mauling?

  1. Excellent Kagawa and Mata together with Rooney…………I have to say Wellbeck is maturing and the whole team plays better for kagawa mata duo……….speed space skill with the ball doing the work…………makes everyone play better with energy stamina used with ball in their possession.which moyes doesnt get……………I personally dont think Moyes is the man………love to be proved wrong…………but a whole season to misuse players Kagawa in particular and then Mata Van O is excellent and he will benefit from this style……….Moyes…start thinking

  2. #city will think they gonna come for joyride…#united will show they are still kings of manchester by beating them 3-1 …

  3. I expect a 3+ thriller match all at the expense of city dwellers i.e 2-1 in favor of unted

  4. nice Pair Moyes. mata, kagawa, and Rooney we take the day at old trafford . glory glory man utd

  5. i can say it’s the time to beat man city becouse of absence of RVP gives a chance to good arrangment of midfeilders

  6. The time has again come for the manchester derby and it’s so hard to predict.
But I am predicting 2-1 win in for man united
