Liverpool will face Martin Jol’s Fulham on Saturday at the Anfield where the Reds will be looking to bounce back strongly in the league after their defeat against Arsenal last week and reduce the gap with the league leaders as well.

The Reds have one distinct advantage over their rivals this season. With no European distractions around, they can give enough rest to their star players, as a result of which, Rodgers can almost pick his best 11 week in week out. It has also a disadvantage. Since, numbers of matches are limited; Rodgers doesn’t have the opportunity to utilize his full squad.

But, he needs to rotate his squad as well and experiment a bit against relatively weaker oppositions. Therefore, we can expect few changes against Fulham this week. In the defence, Daniel Agger might get a game in place of Mamadou Sakho while full-backs Glen Johnson and Jose Enrique are set to start on right and left flanks respectively, after recovering from injuries.

Jordan Henderson has been brilliant this season and Roy Hodgson was right to call him up for the England national team. But, will Rodgers use him in the central midfield in place of Lucas Leiva? Most importantly, will Rodgers allow Steven Gerrard to take a break by deploying Joe Allen in the middle?

Brazilian Philippe Coutinho returned from injury against Arsenal (came on as a sub in the second half) and made an instant impact. Rodgers will be unleashing the trio of Coutinho-Suarez and Sturridge upfront to wreak havoc on a struggling Fulham side. This could be a possible Liverpool Starting XI against Fulham:
