Possible Chelsea line up against Everton

Chelsea vs Hull City analysis

After a brief bad-patch towards the end of January, Chelsea seemed to have got back to their old groove, after getting a valuable point against Manchester City and further beating Aston Villa 2-1 in the last match.

The Blues now turn their attention to Everton who are heading into this game on the back of a goal less draw in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool at Goodison.

Chelsea, courtesy of their 2-1 victory over Aston Villa in the last game, have taken a seven point lead over Manchester City and naturally are strong favourites from here on to win the title.

Chelsea Team News

Jose Mourinho confirmed that midfielder Cesc Fabregas is set to return to the squad after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury.

Fabregas was close to being included in the squad for the Villa fixture, but with Willian also taking a knock, Mourinho decided not to risk with him, but he’ll be in contention against Everton.

“I think he plays on Wednesday because on Saturday it was a decision to protect him,” Mourinho told the club website.

“We didn’t want to risk two players at the same time. We risked Willian and to start two players with a risk is a big gamble,” added Mourinho.

Predicted Chelsea line up

In defence, Gary Cahill is expected to shake off the knock he sustained on Saturday. Felipe Luis is out injured which means Azpilicueta will start as left back.

It remains to be seen whether Mourinho starts with Ramires or not especially with Fabregas back in the side. The Brazilian played the last two matches alongside Nemanja Matic and received special praise from his manager.

“The best Ramires is back and the best Ramires played against Liverpool, Manchester City and Aston Villa,” said Mourinho. “He is a different profile of player but a fantastic player for us.”

Prediction: Chelsea haven’t lost at Stamford Bridge against Everton since 1995 while Everton’s away record has been poor this season, having lost six games already. It could be a comfortable victory for the Blues, 3-1.
