After scraping into the group stages of the Champions League in midweek, Arsenal look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League. The Gunners travel to the King Power Stadium on Sunday to take on Leicester City, who are looking for their first win of the season following promotion from the Championship last year.

Arsene Wenger’s men were far from convincing as they beat Besiktas 1-0 to qualify for the Champions League for the 17th season running. The lack of a genuine striker showed, even though it was stand-in centre-forward Alexis Sanchez scored the winner.

Olivier Giroud’s long-term injury will keep him out till the New Year, and though there have been several players linked to the Emirates, no deal has bee struck so far. Therefore, it will be Sanchez who will once again lead the line for the Gunners.

Arsenal are likely to with a 4-1-4-1 formation, with Mathieu Flamini being the man to sit in front of the back 4. Aaron Ramsey, who missed the Besiktas due to suspension, will be back in the starting XI. Mesut Ozil may once against be played on the left to accommodate Jack Wilshere in the side, with Santi Cazorla making up the quarter behind Sanchez up front.

Possible Arsenal Starting Line-Up

In defence, youngster Calum Chambers, who has started and impressed in both the league games so far, will drop to the bench and Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny will start.

This is the possible Arsenal starting line-up against Leicester City:

Leicester will take confidence from their game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last week, when the Foxes put in a real fight before going down 2-0 in the second-half. They had their moments, and were it not for Thibaut Courtois in the Blues goal, they may well have got something from that game.

Nigel Pearson’s men are a stubborn team to break down, and with no genuine striker in the Arsenal side, the Gunners will be up against it.

Prediction:

Leicester 1-1 Arsenal: The absence of Giroud is going to affect Arsenal, especially against teams with miserly defences like Leicester. The Foxes will play on the counter, and look good to gain a point.
