Chelsea responded brilliantly with a 4-0 convincing victory over Romanian side Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League, where Brazilian midfielder Ramires scored a brace for the Blues.
After suffering an opening day defeat at the hands of FC Basel, Jose Mourinho demanded sharp response from his team. And they duly responded.
It was an out and out open game with both the teams creating good chances, but Chelsea were more clinical than their opponents. Ramires opened the scoring for the Blues after he pounced on a loose ball inside the Steaua penalty box.
Chelsea made it 2-0 just before the half time through an own goal from full-back Daniel Georgievski. Check the hilarious video below.
In the second half, Ramires scored again, after some brilliant movements and interchange of passes from Andre Schurrle creating a fantastic opening.
In the end, Frank Lampard, the leading goal scorer in Chelsea’s history put the icing on the cake with a powerful drive.
