Liverpool are edging towards beating Tottenham Hotspur as Lille striker Divock Origi is set to snub the North London in order to complete his switch to Anfield.

The Belgium international was pictured to have appeared at Liverpool’s Melwood training base on Wednesday. Tottenham were interested in signing Origi and were set to hijack the Merseyside club’s move by making a last ditch £9.8m bid for the striker.

However, the 19-year-old is closing in on signing for Liverpool as he will become Brendan Rodgers’ fourth summer signing, following Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert from Southampton and Emre Can from Bayer Leverkusen.

Origi’s impending move to Liverpool will be a major blow for Tottenham as they were interested in securing a deal for the World Cup striker.

What the World Series of Poker Players Love About the World Cup

  1. I’ve seen nothing from Tottenham saying they’re interested in the player. This is just paper and agent garbage and it suits the agent because it’ll prob add a few quid to his pocket. Maybe the kiddie will end up a good Prem’ player but if you ask me Liverpool are free to sign the guy. Plenty of teams have been burnt buying a player on the strength of one tournament.

  2. He DIDN’T arrive for a medical, that is a downright lie, he was at Melwood for talks with Brendan Rodgers end of story but he has yet to agree to a move. And unfortunately I suspect he will go to Spurs as they have something that no Northern club has and that is the knife crime capital of Europe (London) and it’s bright lights and nightclubs.

    • hohohoho, bill seems to know more than the Liverpool manager and medical staff, have you hacked their phones?
another wannabe armchair fan spouting bullsh1t, sounds like a stupid Londoner…..why would go to team with o champions league football or ever likely to in the next 10 years. he wants to play for a team with ambition, as spurs proved when they sold bale, they wasted the money for the sake of spending, and still ended up mid table. lfc are still in transistion and will always be above spurs, spurs have now tried 4 attempts at I jacking lfc targets, why don’t you get your scouts to do the scouting , ten you might get a bid in first for a player, try the conference, you might succeed then

      • When was the last time you actually finished in the top 5? Let alone 4? And arnt you about to sell your only world class player and the player that everyone else knows is the only reason you finished where you did last season… Doesn’t matter how many players you buy you won’t replace what he does for ya and Sturridge without Suarez will go straight back to mediocrity along with the rest of Liverpool… Hey maybe if Gerrard stays on his feet this time you might make Europa league next season 😉 #ynfa

  3. Loving this. We’re gonna loan him back to his club for a year. Which I think is good thinking. Let him get some more game time at the club where he is already settled and doing well. Another good one for the future.

  4. Spurs always beat liverpool to any player they want and unless they don’t want Origi they will still beat this club buying kids. Hay! After suarez is gone i wonder how this liverpool fc will be.
