Patrice Evra has revealed he is annoyed for leaving Manchester United. The left-back left the Red Devils and joined Juventus in the summer of 2014.

He made a switch to Old Trafford from AS Monaco in the January transfer window of 2006. The French international was joined by Nemanja Vidic in the same window as the two were instrumental in United’s back four during their time in England.

Evra signed a one year extension and despite agreeing a new deal, the 34-year-old left United and joined the Turin club just months after agreeing for a new deal. The Red Devils legend admitted the new deal had a clause, which annoyed him and that forced him to leave United.

“It’s still hard to talk about my exit, but one day – when my career’s over – I’ll be able to speak more openly about it,” Evra told RMC.

“I came to Turin above all for my family because at Manchester they had inserted a clause in our agreement which changed the situation considerably. It really annoyed me. But I don’t regret this move, which in the end has proven to be more than positive.

“I’m happy in Serie A, even if it was more a coincidence that I ended up in Turin than a choice. My aim is to keep on winning with Juventus and the national team, particularly since we’re the host nation [at Euro 2016].”

United replaced Evra with Luke Shaw as the 20-year-old joined the Premier League giants in the same transfer window. The England international was signed from Southampton and after a disappointing debut season, he had a very good start to the 2015-16 season.

However, Shaw picked up a horror injury which is likely to see him miss the most part of the season on the sidelines. Louis van Gaal has used Matteo Darmian, Ashley Young and Marcos Rojo in the absence of the former Saints star.
