FC - that's what I thought and that's what the commentator said, but I wanted someone more knowledgeable to confirm it, so thanks.

Mido was offside then? :)

PS Bilal - re your Middlesbrough/Newcastle Mido comment, if you have a foot ahead of your opponent then that is offside. Same with your head i.e. if your head is in an offside position and the rest of your body isn't then that is offisde.

Your arms are the only part of your body that do not count in the assessment of offside because they're the only part you can't use to control the ball.

I am a qualified referee as well as being a smart arse in case you were wondering.

West Ham Vs Wigan = poor team vs garbage team.

One of the worst games I have been to.

If West Ham don't buy a quality forward and a creative midfielder then we're going to struggle... I hear Benayoun and Tevez are handy - maybe we should make a bid for them.

Fulham again got beat by a great pass while trying to execute the off-side trap. It has caused them to lose to Arsenal and now Villa. I don't want to get into how they got shafted by the refs again. They had a chance to get out of Villa Park with a point, and they didn't do it again. The positive thing I see from them is that they do try very hard. That should keep them from the relegation zone. I liked what I saw from Dempsey most of the match too. Keller doesn't look to be in match form yet. I like Keller, but I don't think he's prem quality anymore.

The Man U v. Tottenham game was boring football at its finest. For much of the game, it didn't seem like Man U knew what to do with the ball or who would be scoring. On the other side, Tottenham playing 8 men in the box seemingly playing to hold on to the 0-0 draw was awful. As a Spurs fan, there's nothing more I hate than watching my team forgetting that the point of playing the game is to win.

Nani has a lot of work to do if he wants to even shine Renaldo's shoes at this point. He won the game with a great shot, but he was acting like he was lost on the pitch for much of the match.

It was hard for me to find any positives to take away from this game for either team.

I have to disagree on the RvP-Schmeichel shin to face incident. I don't remember who it was, but another Man City player actually beat RvP to the keeper. That guy jumped over his mate. RvP eased up so that he wouldn't collide at full speed, but didn't really have anywhere to jump to since there were two City players on the ground. He would have had to jump over two players. Given that RvP sat out half of last season with a foot injury, I don't think he's going to take any chances on getting injured this early in the season. RvP has a LOT of responsibility on his shoulders with TH gone. He has to stay fit. Regardless, Schmeichel had a fantastic game.

I agree with Liverpool_Fan. This City side is a pretty good one. But I feel that although city had their spells in the game arsenal showed more progress going forward. And what can i say about the goal, Hleb is on fire! The pass was timed to perfection and what a shot by Fabregas. As an arsenal fan i'd much rather arsenal play badly and get the result like chelsea do rather than have them play good football only to drop points. Go Gunners!
