Nice boots…

HOWEVER, Nomis Sports UK Ltd. have gone bust. Taking with them a pair of HG Supremacy DC boots that I had returned for a refund / replacement.

Unfortunately the HQ based in Switzerland are ignoring my emails so it looks like I'm left out of pocket. To add insult to injury the HG Supremacy WC boots that do fit are now coming apart after roughly 12 hours of use - so the build quality is not as good as it should be.

In summary, nice boots, good fit, dodgy build quality and atrocious customer service - a BRAND BEST AVOIDED.

To be fair, Kewell switched to Nomis during his lengthy injury period. And he had to paint them to look like Adidas Predators to avoid breaching contract which shows you how much he wanted to make the change.
I go through a pair of boots a season and I have worn everything from top line Predators to Nike Mercurials. Although both of those boots have their own strong attributes like grip and lightness, Nomis are easily the most comfortable and grippy boots I have worn.
The only annoying things about them are the lack of colours and designs, and they are a pain to clean unless you want to shell out for a large supply of Nomis Boot Wipes. Oh and of course the top line price tag, but it's the same I would have paid for another pair of the above mentioned competitors.

Yeah - I agree with you BIGJ, Copa's and the adiPURE's are my boot choice i'll wear for the rest of my playing days.

Ahmed, i've got nothing against Nike; I love the kits and used to get their boots quite often, but I do prefer Adidas a fair bit more.

On the Nomis issue, I hate the design on there boots - Thrown together and somewhere between a 'classic' and 'innavative' look... Not too awesome...

Yup Gooner, tried the Nomis, payed a freaking arm and a leg for them, and only lasted one season...I'm a goalkeeper btw so it is a joke. Yes, they have some great designs, and a lot of fancy technology...but really, one season?

I remember having a pair of Puma Kings gifted to me in my days at Sydney United, and they lasted 5 seasons...my poor babies, had to bury them.

The Kings were the best, alas they have gone all puncy too!
So the other week I bought some brand new Copa's. Mate, I know with some black polish and vaseline, they will last me forever!

For everyone and anyone reading this, go for full grain leather without all the fancy gadgetry.

Hmmm...you probably didn't get the sarcasm in the lead-filled shoes comment, or otherwise you just hate Nike and like Adidas.

In either case, you assume things that you know nothing about, and that too from imagined facts :)

Mmmm.... Ahmed why does it strike me you seem like the kinda puncey (sorry if it's a tad harsh...) kinda guy that would buy a boot like the Nike Murcurial IV's.... Plasticy and orange never look good on a boot, even if they go on about 'lightweight' and 'speed' they really don't deliver such a difference...

Now, take for example the Ronaldo ad (Youtube it if ya haven't seen it) how he races that Jaguar or whatever it is, he wouldn't be faster than a car of that sort, A) Ronaldo gets a quick take-off to that of the car and since it is to the line and back he really also has a an advantage as a human can change A LOT quicker than a car in reverse....

I'm not sticking up for Nomis; And I do believe that the brand will never in all seriousness, compete with the big Nike/Adidas/(even to some extent) Puma boot war - Simply because a majority of people wanna punce around in a pair of orange boots some hyped cunt like Cristiano Ronaldo wears, and the money Nike have they can spen so much on an ad campaign....

Adidas Copa Mundial and the new adiPURE's are very nice, I own CM's, my take is...
"Comfort, Lightweight, Power, speed and Classic Looks... What more can a boot really give you?"

I rest my case...
