Written by Ahmed Bilal

Newcastle United 2007-2009 Home Kit Jersey

The new Newcastle United 2007/2009 home kit was out in March – it’s an inverted version of the 07 strip, with the badge in the center and less stripes.

Let us know what you think about the strip in the comments.

You can buy the Newcastle United 07/09 home jersey here.

I can point out the difference the main colour is Black instead of white. In fact it looks like a negative of the current strip.

I for one do not like it at all we should be black & white stripes not black with a couple of white stripes. It’s horrible.

  2. Nice strip.

The obvious change from the old shirt is that this one is black with white stripes when the old shirt was white with black stripes, stands out a mile to be honest.

  3. I THINK IT IS GREAT!!! Should have come out sooner, we’ll win evrything with this strip…GREAT WELL DONE TO ALL INVOLVED!!!! I’LL BE BUYING ONE FOR ME AND TWO FOR MY YOUNG GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOWAY THE LADS!!!!

  4. That’s a great kit, slick and powerful looking and it looks really different to the usual ones. Can’t understand supporters who moan they come out every 2 years and how they always look the same then we get a really differnt looking home jersey and they still complain!! Howay the BLACK & white army!!! I’m buying on pre-order, cannae wait!
P.S. – Magpies are predominantly black.

  5. less like a barcode, more like the bastard lovechild of a zebra crossing and a hall of mirrors. Well done to all those involved.

  6. Lol @ bastard lovechild
it seems like it has less stripes.
    It does look quite nice

  7. i agree with ray

The patch is in the center, should be bigger I think

Great looking kit but what is the back like. Apart from the shield we had on the back some years ago, you can never make out the name or number. Has this been sorted on this one ?

this is the worst kit since time began…who designed it? a five year old or freddie shepherd? actually, same difference! i cant believe how nice the first kit we had with adidas was…its just got worse every year after that. i dont think we can go any lower after this one though we have certainly hit the depths of football kit hell. it looks like west broms kit from a couple of years ago..like everything else at the club…turning to shit!……

  11. differences, well more black for one. Richard are you forgetting the abomination that was the thick and thin striped top. Raymee the back is almost all black. Well I am not a huge fan of the new kit but I am buying it (fans duty) anyway lets stop moaning about the kit, lets moan about our defence instead

main difference is its a lot blacker and the logo is now white on black background instead of gold,, and i think the back of the shirt is totally black,, i like it and will defo be gettin one

  13. 30/04/2007 Raymee

Thanks John. At least we can see who is out there now. As for the defence, we’ve never had one for 30 years !! and what’s the betting on a large Lancastrian who has recently resigned from his post, taking up the reigns at St James Park at the end of the season !!!

Look i’m glad the kit has less stripes in it, the original looks awful. I wish r home top was just white. And I hope we get a yellow away top. HOWAY THE LADS, BIG SAM WILL BRING THE F.A CUP TO TYNESIDE……

The back of the shirt is bloody awful. Newcastle have had some nice kits in the past (usually better than Sunderland’s I must admit) but I really don’t like this one. The front isn’t too bad but badges should be over the heart and the back shouldn’t be a blatant marketing trick to get people to put names and numbers on the back now that the proper numbers have the newcastle badge on them.

its great.love it.dont support the toons though!
i think it would go az the new ac milan kit exept change the white to red.it looks retro. it probably will be like this coz there kit is made by adidas toooo

  17. its okay but the stripes are very fat!

  18. 31/05/2007 CLAGGER

its really nice thank god we have a nice strip for once. it will be better seeing beckham wear it in november. and sam alladyce GET IN. HOWAY THE LADS

  22. 21/06/2007 Buzzcock

It looks fantastic for everyday wear . When I say everyday I mean every day !

  23. @ Gary ‘its okay but the stripes are very fat!’

Just like the Newcastle fans then

  24. new boro home and away kit, new sponcer which is ‘Garmin’ a leading sponcer in satellite navagation equipment, the deal is to be a 7 figure deal but is only for one year. Talks are taking place to extend the sponcership for longer.

this information has been taking from the middlesbrough fc site

  25. 04/08/2007 Gary Baldie

Passable but doesn’t stand up to the genius of the 95/97 kit (think Les Ferdinand and David Ginola)

  26. [...] Newcastle 07/08 Home Kit Newcastle 07/08 Away Kit [...]

  27. 27/06/2008 Enrico

This kit is probably the worst kit that there is!!

i really think we should have the old kit from the 2003/04 season it looked simple and great! it looked good on all the players however this one does not!!

    bring bak the 03/04 kit!!
