Neville odds to be fingered by FA; United favourites for Final

Watch Manchester United take on Manchester City in the second leg of the Carling Cup semi final live online.

Gary Neville is odds on to cop a fine from the FA following his one finger salute at Carlos Tevez last night, reports Paddy Power.

Having been caught giving his former team mate the bird in last night’s 2-1 Carling Cup defeat Neville, already warned about his previous behaviour in a Manchester derby this season, is just 1/4 to be fined by the FA and 9/4 to be landed with a one match ban. However it’s also 9/4 that Neville gets away with not punishment at all and a less likely 150/1 the FA send him on a sign language course.

Paddy Power are also betting on Tevez’s goal celebration should he net in the second leg at Old Trafford next week. Its 7/2 the Argentinian put his hands behind his ears, 15/2 for a badge kiss and 12/1 for a finger on lips style celebration. Tevez is also 100/1 to return Neville’s one finger salute and 250/1 for what can politely be described as a Gareth Hunt Nescafe-style wrist shake.

United Favourites

Manchester United (1) v Manchester City (2), 2nd leg, Old Trafford, 27 January 2010

However, the betting on who will make the final lives up to the old cliché of it only being half-time in the two-legged affair. Despite taking a one goal deficit back to Old Trafford its United who are the slim favourites to reach the final at 4/5 to City’s 10/11. It’s sure to be a feisty affair and Neville is 15/2 to be booked for a foul on Tevez in the match. With the Argentinian 11/4 to score a goal.

Darren Haines, spokesman for Paddy Power, said: “Manchester derbies are feisty at the best of times but last night has just cranked things up even more for the second leg. City fans shouldn’t think they’re home and dry just yet though as they are still the outsiders to make it to Wembley.”
