Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic has informed the club’s new manager Antonio Conte that he wants to join Manchester United this summer.

Conte has already spoken to a number of Chelsea stars since taking over at Stamford Bridge in an attempt to convince them to stay and Matic has made his intentions clear.

Matic is thought to be frustrated after a disappointing season and wants a change of scenery. Furthermore, he also wants a reunion with former manager Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho was the one who brought him back to the Premier League and the duo shared a good working relationship. Matic was one of the few players who got along well with the current Manchester United boss.

The Serbian even spoke out in Mourinho’s defence after his sacking. Mourinho is also a big fan of Matic.

The Old Trafford outfit are also interested in the Chelsea star and it remains to be seen whether the Blues will give in to their player’s demands or force him to honour his contract.

Chelsea have been linked with Radja Nainggolan and N’Golo Kante. If the Blues are indeed in talks to sign those two, they might need to offload someone. In that case, selling Matic makes perfect sense.
