Mourinho signs pre-contract agreement with Manchester United

Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho has signed a pre-contract agreement with Manchester United according to reputed Spanish outlets.

El Pais have reported that the former Chelsea manager signed a pre-contract agreement with the Old Trafford giants last month.

According to the report, Real Madrid were in talks to bring the Portuguese back to Santiago Bernabeu this summer but conversations between the Spanish giants and Jorge Mendes (Mourinho’s agent) stopped towards the end of January.

It seems that Manchester United have moved swiftly to secure their next managerial appointment.

Mourinho has apparently signed an agreement with United and if he decides to break it before taking over, he will need to pay a penalty.

Dutch manager Louis Van Gaal has failed to impress since taking over from David Moyes and is expected to leave the club at the end of the season.

Manchester United are desperate to win the Premier League title again and are keen to appoint a world class manager who can take on the likes of Klopp and Guardiola.

Chelsea could appoint Antonio Conte as their new manager at the end of the season as well.

Mourinho is reportedly going to earn around £300,000 a week at Manchester United.
