Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has criticized Spain National team coach Vicente del Bosque over the selection of Chelsea players Juan Mata and Fernando Torres.

Del Bosque left Chelsea duo Mata and Torres out of his squad for the World Cup qualifier against Finland. It is understood that since neither player have been able to earn permanent places in Jose Mourinho’s squad this season, the pair wasn’t recalled for the national duty.

This harsh treatment from the Spanish boss has left Mourinho infuriated. He has raised an argument citing, Del Bosque’s logic doesn’t hold true for everyone.

He says as quoted in Portuguese newspaper O Jogo: “He [Del Bosque] picks the team and he decides who he wants to summon”

“Nevertheless, it seems that some players are selected in the squad who hasn’t played a single minute in the league.”

The Portuguese has clearly hinted at the situation of Iker Casillas. The Real Madrid skipper who could face Galatasaray in the Champions League hasn’t had a game for months for his club, while his future has been speculated in the media for a move away in the next transfer window.

One can say both Torres and Mata haven’t performed regularly to get picked for a top nation like Spain. But, then again, what excuse does it hold for Casillas? Mourinho has every right to get behind his players, and though sometimes he over-protects, in this case his criticisms are justified.
