Mourinho confident of luring Juan Manuel Iturbe
Chelsea are leading the chase and hopeful of beating their rivals to land one of the most promising talents in world football at the moment, Juan Manuel Iturbe, reports talkSPORT.
The Argentine has managed five goals and two assists in 22 appearances thus far. He is a terrific dribbler (2.6 per game on average) while has an eye for making intelligent key passes.
What is equally pleasing about his game is his defensive side to the game. He has made 42 tackles this season while 14 interceptions suggest his ability and maturity to read the game.
Arsenal and Liverpool have been credited as well with an interest with both the teams eager to bolster their forward line in the summer.
Mourinho wants his attacking midfielders to contribute enough defensively therefore he fits the bill perfectly.
Also, Chelsea have an added advantage in luring him, as Mourinho holds strong ties with his former club.
Porto were considering selling him on a permanent basis and would ask for a fee in the region of €15m.
However, the question is – Do Chelsea need yet another attacking midfielder? They already have an avalanche of players in attacking midfield zone while several youngsters who are out on loan are doing extremely well and would be looking to make an impact at Chelsea next season.
