Like what Brad Barnett mentioned, Beckham dont score as often. His attention that he brings to USA is huge. No matter what happens to Beckham, whether he makes and impact or not at the soccer pitch, his transfer to America is already a bit thing in the world. Beckham is not a scorer aside from his free kicks. He will bring attention to the game, but it will be the lesser known stars that will keep the attention there. However in terms of generating media attention (which is what the EPL has done really well in their push to be 'the best league'), beckham-types are also important.
