Milan Chasing Liverpool’s Daniel Agger

Written by Subhankar Mondal

Italian and European powerhouse AC Milan are preparing to launch a bid for the Liverpool midfielder Daniel Agger in January, according to a report on Goal.com.

It has been reported in the Italian media that Milan are bracing themselves for a number of top draw signings when the transfer window reopens in January and on the wishlist of Milan is Daniel Agger, the Liverpool defender.

Milan have been suffering defensively so far this season. Paolo Maldini is moving towards the end of his career, Alessandro Nesta is getting injured very frequently and Philippe Senderos is having a poor season.

This has forced Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti and vice-president Adriano Galliani to search for a central defender and it appears that they have made Agger as their number one priority.

But at the moment it does not appear too likely that Milan shall be able to pull off the coup. They are alleged to be contemplating tabling a bid of €8 million but Reds manager Rafael Benitez might not very eager to see his squad get depleted as the Merseysiders are going strong both in the Premier League and in the UEFA Champions League. So maybe Milan should invest their time and energy elsewhere if they really want to get a defender in January.
