Much is being said today about the impact Web2.0 social networking sites are having on traditional business models. Take for instance way businesses are using FaceBook, Bebo, MySpace and the multitude of influential blogging networks to establish an online presence.

Never before has so much empowerment been granted to the consumer. The internet is facilitating user generated content (UGC) like never before, and UGC is the driving force of change whether traditional businesses like it or not.

The betting industry is one such business model undergoing huge transformation. Only a few years back punters looking to place bets on football were expected to accept the price, odds and terms offered by traditional bookmakers, such as William Hill or Ladbrokes.
