Manchester United’s €30m midfield target Enzo Perez has reportedly dropped hint about his future with Portuguese giants Benfica according to reports in Portugal. The 27 year old’s future is uncertain in Jorge Jesus’ side and strong interest from Manchester United, the Argentine could well be on his way to Old Trafford in the summer.
The player in an interview with Radio America claimed, “I have a contract until 2018, but we know how is football. Nor do I know yet where I will play next season.”
Perez also dropped a certain hint that his future might be away from Portugal and his tone was more like bidding farewell.
“Lisbon is a very beautiful and very peaceful city. It was nice to have enjoyed over the years, and of course the sports results also helped. “
The versatile Argentine can play anywhere in midfield but his major strength lies as an anchorman in the middle of the park. Perez despite playing from a deep position at Benfica contributed to the goal scoring list and also got his name on the assists chart in his 46 appearances for the club.
Manchester United are in desperate need of a midfielder who can hold fort in the middle of the park and direct play from the deep. Perez would seamlessly fit into the Red Devils outfit but he won’t come cheap as the midfielder has a reportedly €30m release clause.
