Interesting. Personally I couldn’t care less about this unnecessary match. If I was fergie I’d play the reserves. This ‘trophy’ like the Community Shield, has no status whatsoever and why risk someone getting injured when we already have a long list of casualties?

There are only 2 trophies worth playing for. They carry the monetary rewards and prestige above all others.
Nothing games like this should be treated as such.

By the time Utd play their 4th PL game this season, some of their players will have played in the Community Shield, the Super Cup and 3 internationals.

We hear about over-congested schedules but 5 games that have nothing to do with the REAL business!!??

Get the reserves out I say!

I think there will be a new trophy awaiting the winners of the competition, it will be lightest of trophies and it shows in the new logo of the UEFA Super Cup(nt the one shown above)

Well, if Hargo or Carrick can be back on time it will be bonus for Utd.

Is this the competition that determinds who goes on to the Club World Cup or is it United, winners of the UCL?

Should be an interesting match-up between Anderson and Alves. Two huge talents. I am told that there’s no love lost between Pogrebnyak and Vidic from way back, so corners ought to be interesting. Paulie Scholes looked very fit and crisp against Pompey yesterday and may prove to be the game’s vital factor, especially if he can get a few long daisy dippers off.
