in all honesty it is true that what goes around comes around, im sure that liverpool will be victim of some iffy goals too, and that united will eventually get some themselves, its still early in the season and like last year we've started off rather slow but im sure we'll bounce back.... i have to agree with a previous comment that fergie got it wrong yesterday, i was shocked when i saw that we had anderson scholes and carrick starting as well as rooney tevez and berbatov no natural width there without giggs or nani... in fairness it was more stupid mistakes by vds and giggs than liverpools luck...

@ STALLONE ROCK

Spare me buddy. Luck is luck. & I'm not sour graping. I'm stating the plain truth. I could careless if we were a shambles. They were still lucky! For all their allegedly great play they had to get two goals from utter gifts. Namely an own goal and a moment of utter madness from Giggs.
On a good day for them the scoreline would have been similar to what we gave to Arsenal in the FA Cup last season. Not 2-1.

To compare Tevez's goal to those 2 is also pretty silly. Berbatov's run and cut back should have been cut out long before Tevez arrived. For that goal to be blamed on an error by Mascherano.

United fan and I'll agree that the own goal by Wes Brown was absolutely a bit of luck. But it was bad play on VDS behalf too. I'm not the keeper but it looked as if he could've caught it rather than punch it away. Still Brown was there to deflect it in. Good luck Pool, Bad Luck United.

2nd goal wasn't luck at all. Gigg's got turned around and Babel was there to capatilize on the mistake. Well done to be at the right place at right time as a scorer should be. Utd was well outplayed in the 2nd half. It was horrible to watch.

I hate to see United lose that way, but it happened. It won't at Old Trafford! For anyone to say that any of the goals scored (beside the Brown OG) was luck is ignorant. Saying that Babel got lucky because he was at right place at right time or Tevez was lucky for not getting marked is laughable. That's what a goal scorer does. They can get themselves unmarked or be there incase a ball pops out on their foot. They must still have the composure to finish it. Playing All 3 strikers was poor planning on SAF's part I agree. Berba did show some pieces of brilliance, which was satisfying. Still playing Rooney on the wing has to stop. Either choose Tevez or Rooney to play alongside Berba. I read Ronaldo will be back soon, so this will have to happen. we can't play all 4 of them on the field. Looks great up front, sure, but then you have the lack in defensive end. Just my opinion.

I'll say good game to the Liverpool faithful, although it should've been 1-1. Man Utd won't lose to them twice.

To the utd fans...we lost. It sucks, but don't whine about it. Makes us other supporters look shameful, and I hate getting the whiner tag put on me for what other fans say. Let's hope SAF takes a look at this game and realizes the mistakes and fixes them. Villareal and Chelsea next.
GLORY, GLORY MAN UTD!!!

Im glad you came back with a proper arguement instead of mindless babbling which a lot of fans resort to. Perhaps we were lucky but I will take that gladly. If we do what we did against boro for the rest of the season I wont be complaining.

United's team don't deserve all the blame, SAF got his tactics wrong. His team selection reminded me of what AC Milan did a lot last season when they didnt finish in the top four. They just threw their best players on the field in any shape but balance in a team is much more important which is something United lacked with Rooney and Anderson out wide I believe.

i am a united fan but i am afraid to say that this season man utd have become a 45min team. They need to fix their physical conditions fast or else they not finish in the top 4 positons.

man u have had some lucky results against us over the years, even when you listen to the likes of Alan Hansen and Mark laurow,i'm not being bitter but Liverpool have played Mu of the the park in most games and they have scored some lucky goals to win,i could recount the games but that would be pointless? and remember the team you put...three world class strikers?

liverpool_fan i never said liverpool didnt play some nice football if you read my comment correctly u will find that i said liverpool played very well, but to say babel's goal was not lucky is ridiculous first off what was giggs doing, and then if u watch the replay babel's shot was straight into the ground and the power in the shot caused the bounce to end up right in the back of the net, and if he meant to hit it that way then i cant say much but i doubt he meant it.... how can i say poor middlesbrough??? they scored in the 94th minute when 3 minutes were added on if that's not middlesbrough hard done by then i dont know what is, a carragher fluke goal and a 94th minute winner, they were good value for a point and came away with nothing. as for united we definately deserved nothing but it was hard to swallow such a retarded way of loosing

@ Edward,
Seriously you can come up with a reply more intelligent than that. Because that's just beyond dumb. For Goals scored due to luck ar pretty easy to differentiate from normal goals.

& Babel's was down to pure luck. It's not remotely debatable.

But why am I bothering? You think O'shea's strike last season wasn't luck...That says it all.

@Liverpool fan

Exactly. So it wasn't any special play on your team's part that got you a winner. Just a moment of madness by an experienced professional. Which is lucky. There was little difference between that winner and O'shea's last season. 9 out of 10 times it wouldn't happen. & you of all people should know what lucky win is like. For we've given our some painful memories of some over the years.

For me Liverpool were just Lucky. But rightly so because they worked hard to get a result. If they had been good as some claim, there is no way the result would have been that close. Because United save for Rio were plain shocking. & Liverpool on a very good day would have torn them to shreds.
