Manchester United v Chelsea, Vidic v Droga, Reality v Fiction

Written by Ahmed Bilal

Allow me to present you with a truly unbiased account of what happened on the night of 21 May 2008.

For some there was glory, for others there was a sense of relief, for a chosen few the damning thought that this would be their last game for the club and for one or two select individuals, shame that they would never be able to wash away from their past.

For the record, Drogba did not cost Chelsea the Champions League final. You play with what you have, and Chelsea missed two chances to score with Nicolas Anelka bottling a penalty kick after refusing to take one earlier on and John Terry slipping on the Moscow turf like an overweight ballet dancer whose choreography had gone horribly wrong and…well, and to think he was about to be remembered for spitting at a fellow footballer and getting away with it.

Drogba had no such luck. He didn’t slip, he didn’t miss a penalty. He wasn’t even on the pitch - courtesy of a petulant slap that had no other effect except to enrage the fearless Serb before running off to hide behind the ref as Terry and co intervened to protect their ‘goal monster’. Heart-warming stuff to see the Chelsea man run away from the Manchester United defender only to have justice served as he was given his marching orders soon after.

In his book (not to sound condescending but given his history should Drogba be allowed to write - or have ghostwritten - his life story?) Drogba says that given what happened in the aftermath of the slap, he felt that the reaction from the ref was inappropriate and would have made more sense if he had punched Vidic.

Now I don’t know about you but if there’s one man in the Manchester United lineup that I don’t want to go around punching, it’s Nemanja Vidic. United have a few fighters in the squad but no one compares to the Serb’s intensity, fearlessness and ability to take a battering without missing a step. Compare him to the whining, daydreaming, flopping Chelsea striker and the odds on Drogba surviving the aftermath of a punch, either during the match or post-season - are very, very long.

Let it be said - Didier Drogba did not have the balls to punch Vidic in Moscow. And yes, the better team won on the night, deal with it. Take it away Chris…

Classic! Would anybody (even Chelsea fans) want to buy this drivel?
Drogba is the worst example of the trumped up ‘from the gutter’, cheating cowards the game has ever produced…and there’s been a few.
His comments are pathetic and he sinks so far he stinks.

Never has anyone deserved a good slapping more that this troll.

What a surprise, Chelsea fan trying to defend him. Gutless!

  2. Excellent work.

The best part has been watching Chelsea fans, who were ready to write him off completely, even before the Final, have to re-embrace him.

This is the guy who once went down like a ton of bricks after Jens Lehmann gave him a little love tap. I hardly think he would have had the balls to punch someone like Vidic in the face. I doubt he would have even had the balls to punch Neville in the face.

  3. “Brilliant cartoon, man. You should’ve added “black cocksucker”. That’s what he is. And I bet he is a paedophile. And he must rape poor white woman around London. That he stocks a harem, back in the Ivory Coast, is beyond doubt. Given his animal nature he must indulge in bestiality every once in a while, presumably with Mourinho’s dog (hence the love for ol’ Jose). And I know well whose “scrote” you meant when you put that bubble in the last panel. He he!”

Now, consider what you’ve done in that brilliant cartoon! You could stretch a football field fight, and feed the stereotype. You seem to suggest, black men, better beware having long hair. They are sure to be mistaken as gay. Or is it that black men better beware of picking fights, because it confirms they are bad for the civilized West! Or, is it, black men are not human! I’m not mentioning Gay and having ‘woman-hair” being indisputably bad things to be! Aren’t you proud of what you’ve done?

    Well I say…

Football doesn’t need a fan like you!

  4. I think Drogba does not have the guts to punch Nemanja Vidic. He(Drogba) needs a lot of growing up to do. Did U just Say Drogba wrote a book. I wont bother reading the book cos what does Drogba have to say. He Becoming a retard just like his boss Jose Mourinho.

  5. Nice!Drogba does not have sportmanship.He sucks,Vidic’s the man.

I’m happy others are starting to see what a disgrace Didier Drogba is to our game. A cheat, a whiner and a gutter mouth, Drogba exudes an arrogance far beyond his talent. For every goal he scored there are 5 moments of luncacy i.e diving. I think hes no role model for fans and I concur with the idea Vidic is the last person you’d want to punch. Ironically, Drogba is the first I’d want to.

  7. hahah look at all these jealous people on here…trashing Drogba when you all know you would take him if the chance arose..

  8. Unbiased my ass!!! Drogba wouldve killd Vidic with a punch if he wanted to. Im a Liverpool supporter and can admit to Chelsea being the most dominant in the Champions Final, they just gave it away. One more thing, I would take Drogba over anybody in the Man U squad.

  9. Drogba is a fantastic striker. One of the best in Europe. But anyone can see he is an outrageous diver. If Liverpool fans need any reminder how he dived his way around some of the games against the Reds click this link and watch it for yourself. http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa159/red-till-dead/th28796_drogba_122_390lo.gif

  10. And another thing Mourinho just came out and told the press since Drogba is not his player anymore he does not need to defend him any longer. He declared Drogba was a shameless diver.
