Manchester United update: Chelsea match report and player evaluation

Hey guys.

Just a quick heads up to tell you that I’ve put up the Manchester United vs Chelsea match report over at Red Rants (which is only the best Manchester United blog around) and there’s also a detailed evaluation of our second string that turned up against Chelsea tonight.

Some highlights:

Chelsea vs Manchester United - Match Report

t ended 0-0, it was a pre-meditated slap across Chelsea’s face (figuratively speaking, of course) and despite a few shaky moments in the last 15 minutes, United pulled it off.

Not much to say about the game, except that if you didn’t watch it, you needn’t have bothered.

However, there still is plenty to talk about in terms of what the ref did wrong, what the match meant for Chelsea, for United and for the FA Cup final, and what United can take away from this game.

Evaluating United players

We saw a few United players in action for an extended period of time for the first time - Kieran Lee, Dong Fangzhou and Chris Eagles.

In addition, with the season almost over it was also a good chance to see the second string in action for probably the last time - West Ham will meet a stronger squad - and I think it’s as good a time as any to discuss the value of each player to United.
