According to latest reports in Sky Sports, Daryl Janmaat has arrived for a medical in Newcastle to complete his signing for the Magpies from Dutch side Feyenoord. The 24 year old was a Manchester United target thanks to his stellar performances in the World Cup but now appears that the Magpies have secured the signing for the right back.

The details of the deal are yet to be known but Englush tabloid Shields Gazette believe the figure is close to £5m. Dutch website Feyenoord Pings have however claimed that the player will sign a 6 year deal but his medical could be delayed until tomorrow through illness.

Janmaat however will not be travelling to New Zealand for their pre season tour and will enjoy a well deserved vacation thanks to Holland’s stellar run into the semi finals of the recently concluded World cup in Brazil.

Mathieu Debuchy

As Janmaat puts pen to paper at Tyneside, it will pave the way for French right back Mathieu Debuchy to move to Arsenal. We had earlier reported that Arsenal have sealed a £7.9m deal for the 28 year old Frenchman who will move to the Emirates for the departed Bacary Sagna.
