Manchester United have reached an agreement with Victor Valdes and the free agent will be joining the Red Devils on a two year deal.

The former Barcelona keeper has been training with Manchester United for the last two months as he tries to recover from a serious knee injury. According to reports, Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal has been impressed with Valdes in training and has agreed to sign the player on a 18 month contract.

Valdes will act as a backup to Spanish keeper, David De Gea, who has been in sensational form this season and is without doubt the first choice at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Andres Lindegaard appears to be on his way out of Old Trafford, due to lack of first team opportunities. Valdes’ signing will further end any hopes of game time for the Danish keeper, who is likely to return to Scandinavia.

Valdes will be United’s first signing in the transfer window, as Van Gaal continues to improve his side and push for the Champions league spot.
