Vince,

2 things.

1) Even the badly translated version says that there is agreement between Ruud and Bayern and that all is needed is Manchester United's approval. However, that does not mean that Ruud will definitely play for Batern.

2) The Nike vs Adidas point is good (and thank you for mentioning it as I had forgotten to include it), but that's a boiler-plate response from the chairman. The sponsorship issue will be a very important point, so it will be interesting to see what *that* particular discussion will result in.

Well I am German and having read the articles in "Bild" any suggestion that Ruud will be playing at Bayern next season are wide off the mark. Rummenigge actually said that Ruud "could imagine playing for Bayern" and that they have spoken about money, no suggestion of any agreement. In fact, Ruud is under contract at Nike and when asked about the potential conflict with Munich's major sponsor Adidas, Rummenigge actually states categorically that there will be NO exceptions made, ALL Munich players will play with Adidas boots... so considering Ruuds sponsorship contract with Nike and Munich's affiliation with Nike's rivals it is most unlikely that Ruud will be at the Allianz arena next season - unless he's prepared to cancel his Nike deal... he's not that daft now, is he? Besides, Bayern won't pay more than 10m GBP tops!!!
