The former Everton midfielder who was signed for a reported fee of £27.5m failed to fit into the system at Manchester United, with a combination of poor performance and injury created frustrations among the fans.

The Times reports that new Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal, is ready to perform his own cull, given that there will be no Champions League football at Old Trafford next season.

Furthermore, the Dutchman wants to switch to a more fluid 4-3-3 formation and is ready to cut loses on Fellaini.

United are hoping to recoup £15m for Fellaini, whose transfer value could hike up, should he produce a strong performance for Belgium at the World Cup in Brazil. Van Gaal will reportedly take charge at Old Trafford after the World Cup but has instructed Ed Woodward, the United executive vice-chairman, to carry on with the task of trimming United’s squad.

Van Gaal wants to reduce the squad from 30 to 22 this season, and is looking to bring in four or five new players.

  1. Fellaini should be given enough time for him to adapt to manchester united…he is gud and he should b played as a Central mildfield position as in 442 formation

  2. The dude on the right is blatantly thinking ‘I want an afro like that’. I would, if I was him. I like fluid 4-3-3 formations. That’s what she said

  3. Sorry he has not scored more than Mata
