Cavani moved to PSG last season from Italian side Napoli for €63m but it is believed that the Uruguayan is seemingly unhappy at the Parc De Princes having to play in a more wider role to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the central central striker under manager Laurent Blanc.

The 27 year old who will play a crucial role for his country in the World Cup scored 20 goals and grabbed a couple of assists in 38 appearances for the Nouveau Riche French side this campaign.

It is believed that new Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal is desperate to get the Red Devils back on track after a disastrous 2013-14 season under David Moyes. A lack of Champions League action might prove to be a stumbling block but United are believed to be taking advantage of Cavani’s relationship with Blanc which has never really been smooth.

The Red Devils might also offer talisman Wayne Rooney to the French side to reduce the asking price for the Uruguayan hitman. Cavani has a contract with PSG till 2018 but with the Financial Fair Play set to be effective from next season, the French Champions would need cash to land the £60m transfer target Paul Pogba from Juventus after securing a £48m move for Brazilian defender David Luiz from Chelsea.

  1. What nonsense you want let Rooney leave as part of the deal.Don’t need this Cavani at all..Why United? we need midfielders not Cavani.

  2. After d departure of C. Ronaldo, ROONEY has bn our major player. Selling ROONEY doesnt make any sense. Is Cavani versatile like Rooney? Rooney plays round d field.

  3. everybody will be happy for him to be at manutd and his football skills will also change for the reds we all know

  4. luis van gaal should put more and more interest to tony kroos and make the deal clear he will be good to manchester united

  5. That’s the most ridiculous article if he did come where would he play? Prob out wide with van p in the middle. United wouldn’t waste 70 million on a striker when they need midfielders and defence urgently
