Marouane Fellaini’s horrid time at Old Trafford might soon come to an end is reports from the reliable Italian website TMW is to be believed. The report has cited the front page headline from Il Matino which states, “Fellaini in the viewfinder, Napoli is serious.”

The recent developments hardly comes as a surprise after CalcioNapoli24 had earlier reported that Napoli director Riccardo Bigon met the player at a hotel in Brussels to discuss on a possible deal to bring the him to Stadio Sao Paolo.

The Partenopei are currently negotiating for the purchase of the midfielder from the Red Devils but at the moment, both the parties are far from reaching an agreement. Moreover the 26 year old’s whopping demands of €5m wages per year would definitely be a stumbling block for the Italian side. Moreover United’s evaluation of the player stands at €20m which would be tough for Napoli to meet, hence a loan deal looks the most viable option.

Fellaini was signed for £27m from Everton last season by the then manager David Moyes but the player failed to live up to his price billing, struggling to settle in and hardly mustering a starting eleven spot.

Now with Dutch legend Louis Van Gaal in charge, the former Everton midfielder’s career at Old Trafford could soon be over after the club signed Ander Hererra from Athletic Bilbao this summer, which inhindsight means Fellaini would further fall down the pecking order for a strating eleven spot.
