Manchester United offer £260,000 a week for Toni Kroos
Manchester United are offering Toni Kroos £260,000 a week to lure the midfielder away from Bayern Munich in the summer, according to reports from The Guardian.
The Red Devils manager David Moyes understands that getting the midfielder will be difficult, especially if Bayern maintain their stance that he is not for sale, but has not given up the hope.
We have been closely following the saga for a while. In January, David Moyes made a scouting trip to Germany, where he was escorted by Kroos’ agent to watch Bayern’s win over Monchengladbach and British press speculated that the Scot was alerted to the contract stand-off between the player and his Munich bosses.
This was followed by The Metro claiming Manchester United are ready to offer Toni Kroos a deal worth £250,000-a-week to convince him join the Old Trafford club. Well, the Guardian has just added another £10,000 to the figure.
Kroos probably this a good opportunity to unsettle his parent club regarding his contract, by claiming ‘it is no secret thatPremier League is a possibility for me.’
Last week we had The Mirror’s John Cross claimed that the midfielder has told his friends that ‘he is ready’ to join Manchester United and has told the club that ‘he is determined’ to move to Old Trafford.
German press reacted strongly to it with The Bild attacking the British tabloid for unsettling the Bayern camp with false stories.
So, what’s going on with Kroos? Here’s what his consultant Volker Struth had to say:
“We are confronted with a variety of rumors for months, but will continue not get to learn. But the moment I believe that Toni plays at least in Bavaria until 2015.”
Bayern have confirmed the signing of Sebastian Rode from Eintracht Frankfurt on a four-year deal. And although he is a defensive midfielder, it could be a sign that the club is preparing for the potential departure of Kroos.
